Feeding

Many people don’t know your speech language pathologist can also help with feeding concerns. We combine feeding methods (including SOS Feeding) and strategies to provide each child a personal feeding plan that helps them reach their own nutritional needs. Some concerns may be:

  • Picky eating

  • Refusal of foods

  • Slow rate of consuming foods

  • Abnormal chewing patterns

  • Weakness of the feeding muscles

  • Abnormal coordination for feeding

  • Always making alternatives/accommodation for meals

Our Programs

Reading and Writing

We know reading and writing can be a complex process for so many kids. That's why our team breaks down the reading process to see what exactly each child is struggling with. First, we take a look at:

  • phonemic awareness

  • phonics vocabulary

  • reading fluency

  • written expression

  • executive functioning

  • comprehension

Next, we personalize a treatment plan that targets your child’s difficulties while also using their current strengths! Ask our staff about our program!

Teletherapy

We have a solution for those last minute schedule changes, long drives to the clinic, or permanent distance learning opportunities. Our team offers remote learning opportunities through our HIPAA compliant portal. Talk to our staff to see how your child can learn from a distance with their speech therapist!

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

Many of our clients are multi-modal communication users. This means they use a variety of ways to communicate (i.e. verbal, sign, AAC) their thoughts, ideas and interests with others. Our team partners with AAC software companies to personalize and select the best fit AAC device for your child. A few considerations may be….

  • Your child’s personal interest on the device

  • The size of the device

  • The best fit software system

  • Added features

  • Access methods

  • Usability in a variety of settings (i.e. school, therapy, home, etc.)

  • Usability with many people (i.e. teachers, therapist, family, etc.)
