Reading and Writing

We know reading and writing can be a complex process for so many kids. That's why our team breaks down the reading process to see what exactly each child is struggling with. First, we take a look at:

  • phonemic awareness

  • phonics vocabulary

  • reading fluency

  • written expression

  • executive functioning

  • comprehension

Next, we personalize a treatment plan that targets your child’s difficulties while also using their current strengths! Ask our staff about our program!

Teletherapy

We have a solution for those last minute schedule changes, long drives to the clinic, or permanent distance learning opportunities. Our team offers remote learning opportunities through our HIPAA compliant portal. Talk to our staff to see how your child can learn from a distance with their speech therapist!

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

Many of our clients are multi-modal communication users. This means they use a variety of ways to communicate (i.e. verbal, sign, AAC) their thoughts, ideas and interests with others. Our team partners with AAC software companies to personalize and select the best fit AAC device for your child. A few considerations may be….

  • Your child’s personal interest on the device

  • The size of the device

  • The best fit software system

  • Added features

  • Access methods

  • Usability in a variety of settings (i.e. school, therapy, home, etc.)

  • Usability with many people (i.e. teachers, therapist, family, etc.)

Pragmatic Groups

We offer groups for children of various ages to work on their social skills. These small groups of 2-4 children offer a structured and supportive environment that is led by a Speech Pathologist. Each child will have the opportunity to practice skills such as initiating a conversation, maintaining a conversation, self-advocating, perspective taking, problem solving, etc. Depending on each child’s needs, group sessions can be offered in addition to individual sessions or in place of individual sessions. Talk to our staff about peer group availability!

Summer Camps

While we have fun in all of our sessions, we have extra fun in the summers at our summer camps! Designed for children to work on skills such as speech sound production, AAC use, and social skills, our summer camps are the perfect opportunity to blend learning and fun.

AAC Caregiver Training

Does your child have an AAC device? Do you have questions about how to use the device, how to model on the device, or how to edit the device? If so, then our AAC caregiver training sessions may be a perfect next step for you! During these sessions, our providers focus on each caregiver’s questions to help build your knowledge and confidence around AAC. Our providers will work with each caregiver on personalizing the device, editing the device, and creating an action plan to help your child’s language skills progress.
